The reflections of wars in the 20th century to social life and clothes

In this research, it is observed how wars of 20th century affected people?s life of social and socioeconomic and clothes type. In the first chapter information about historical development in the world before beginning of 20th century wars was given. In the second chapter starting reason, historic process, effect to person?s life style and reflection to dress culture of First World War beginning 1914 was mentioned. With the effect of the war people?s admirations to the soldiers and nurses uniforms had started to change people dressing attitudes. These changes are supported with the photographs which belong to these periods. In the other sections, before the Second World Warthe changes in the clothes, shortening skirts length, the unemphasised breasts, more masculine appearance and by giving informations about the people?s social lives, reasons of the war and it is reflection to the people dressing attitudes are observed. During the war time, with the effect of economic shrinking. After the Second World War under the pioneering of Christian Dior ?New Look? trend had started. With this trend women had started to wear wast waist clothes and it brought more emphasis to the breasts. In the next chapters respectively during the Cold War , Iron Curtin issue between two super power (ABD and SSCB) nuclear threats and like the all industries, the restrictions on the textile industry were mentioned. Hippie movement has emerged as a sub-culture during the Vietnamese War. In this section, it is as contradictions and pioneering?s on dressing and social life was searched. In last chapter terror becoming more dangerous than a war and traumas which terror caused and changes which terror made in person life were mentioned. Because of the 20th centuries dressing perception and the social life are interested for all societies, interactions and deference between man and women clothings were searched together. The traumas that caused by the wars which are the basis of this research changed people social life.
