Three composers adopting the intellectual and aesthetic elements of Asia within the scope of east-west synthesis in 20th century international art music isang Isang Yun, John Cage, György Ligeti

In the 20th century international art music ("Western music"), the intellectual, spiritual and aesthetic elements of Asian culture were utilized to a great extent and these elements served as a starting point in the works of many composers. There is an understanding of a "synthesis" that manifests itself in different views and frameworks from the beginning of the century to the end. Although all relevant composers are included, this research focuses mainly on three composers, Isang Yun, John Cage and György Ligeti, who favored a more abstract and multi-dimensional approach to synthesis. In addition to the fact that each of the three major composers moved from different points to some common characteristics, they turned in other directions during the later stages of their careers, which led them to appear as specific identities. All three adopted the solution of going beyond German Idealism, using Asian cultural references, and thus succeeded in realizing the music textures and structures they aimed for.
