Change in architectural design strategies at the end of 20 th century: Reasons and direction of change

In this thesis study, design strategies, Which have changed parallel todevelopment in the world, have been ezamined. In introduction part, object ofthesis has been identified. In second part, accepted identifications have beengiven which are related to necessary main concepts. In third part,echological/energy efficient approaches have been examined. In fourth part,parallel to technological development, possibilities of uses of material andstructural components. And in final part, the direction of design strategies atthe end of 20 th century has been identified using investigations and examinedsample buildings. Today, one of the most important reasons of enviromentalpollution is traditional energy production methods. Buildings of future have toconsume less energy and their designs have to be conceived by the direction ofechological/energy efficient principles.
