Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the impact of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) on the development in the Republic of Yemen during the period 2000-2017. Moreover, this study determined the role and importance of small and medium-sized enterprises in the industrial sector and the economy as a whole. Statistical descriptive analysis of target data was using for determination the role and importance of SMES in Yemen. In the literature review, the study presented the enhancements of the most vital indicators of development were offered with their economic, social, environmental and institutional dimensions. In addition, the historical review about the roles and contribution percentages of the most important developments of SME in employment, output and added value were reviewed. For getting the findings of study, quantitative method was applied for data analysis. Partial least square modeling (PLS-SEM) by using Smart PLS e 3 software was running for analyzing the data and obtaining the target findings for the period (2000 – 2017) about Yemen. According to the finding of this study, there is decreasing in development indicators in Yemen. Additionally, SMES has positive influence on the development dimensions in Yemen. Therefore, the influence of SME on Developing indicators still less than target standard in Yemen and has to be better then ever before.
