Abstract (EN)
2001 financial crisis experienced in Turkey revealed fragile and unhealthy character of Turkish economy and, provide deep wounds economy, especially in banking sector. Banking sector restucturing programme is effectuated for fixing harms of 2001 crisis, stabilize the sector from internal and external financial shocks and increasing the rivalry power of the banking sector which has played the leading role of comprising of the financial crisis. Through the last 10 years banking sector has experienced a big improvement process.İn this paper, ?Restructuring of theState Owned Banks?, ?Solving of TMSF Owned Banks?, ?Structurally Recovering Private Banks? and ?İnstitutional and Structural Regulations? which are the processes declared in the Banking Sector Restructuring Programme by BDDK after the financial crisis in Turkey on November 2000 and February 2001. The results of; precautions taken, merges and acquisitions of the fragile banks, restructural events for strenghten the sector, legal and institutional regulations are the subjects which are emphasized on. The ten year process after the inception of restructuring operations are evaluated by making use of liquidity, profitability, structure of balance sheets and capital adequcy ratios.Key Words:1.Financial Crisis,2.Restructuring,3.Banking.
