Abstract (EN)
The concepts of "religious novel" and "Islamic novel" have different meanings. Mentioning religious subjects in a novel is not enough for it to be Islamic. The Islamic novel refers to the novel that is fictionalized from an Islamic point of view. For a novel to be considered Islamic, the structural elements and discourse of the novel must be functional in conveying the Islamic message. Accordingly, there are three basic criteria, namely the essence, the structural elements of the novel and the discourse. This study seeks answers to the questions "what is an Islamic novel", "by what criteria can a novel be considered as an Islamic novel". Keywords: Islamic novel, religious novel, essence, elements of novel, discourse.
