The effects of 2001 economic crisis on diversification strategies of business groups in Turkey

The objectives of this thesis are searching for whether there are any changes in business groups? diversification strategies before 2001 and after 2001 in Turkey. In this context, which diversification strategies (reletad or unrelated) are adopted by the business groups is tried to be determined.The business groups included in study divided into two groups one of them is before the economic crisis of 2001 having bank and continue in the same manner after 2001 and the rest. On this basis whether having bank is advantageous in diversification strategies or not is tried to be determined.Quantitative research is used for reaching on planned datas. The datas related with business group are obtained by IMKB. With these studies groups in Turkey in which sectors they performed and these sectors? relationships (relevant or irrelavant) with each other are tried to be put forward. The sample of study is constituted by the companies traded in Xhold,IMKB.
