Abstract (EN)

In this study, it has been analyzed that whether variables of Turkey's import and export whose cities are İstanbul, Kocaeli, Ankara, Bursa, İzmir, Gaziantep, Sakarya, Hatay, Denizli ve Manisa are interdependent or not between 2002:Q1-2018:Q4. In the first chapter of this study; General informations as to the foreign trade and its importance was mentioned, and then information about international foreign trade theories has been given. In the second chapter of the study; export and import of selected ten provinces of Turkey were examined between years 2002-2018, and information about the provinces' products which are both exported and imported has been comparatively given in 2002 to 2018. In the third chapter of this study, Turkey's import and export variables, which was done 2002Q1-2018Q4 period have been analyzed to be independent. Firstly, import and export variables were adjusted seasonally, and then natural logarithm of these variables were taken. It has been determined that the export and import variable have a unit root, and first difference of these variables were taken, hence these variables have been gotten stationary. Moreover, Granger Causality has been tested in order to be determined causality relationship between export and import. As per this test result, difference causality between export and import was occured. The Least Squares method was implemented so as to test whether the relationships between import and export of these cities are independent or not. According to this analysis result, it was concluded the fact that these cities export and import are statistically significant.
