Review of graduate thesis on polygons conducted in turkey between 2008-2023

This study aims to examine postgraduate theses on polygons in Turkey between 2008-2023 in accordance with the determined criteria and to reveal the general situation. For this purpose, the data sources of the research consist of a total of 107 postgraduate theses, 89 of which are master's and 18 are doctoral theses published in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. Document review, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study. The thesis review form created by the researcher was used to collect the data. According to this form, the theses were examined according to the type of study, publication year, university where they were published, sample size, implementation period, study group, research model, research design, data collection tools, data analysis methods and the type of polygon investigated. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of the collected data. The frequencies and percentages related to the findings obtained as a result of the data analysis are presented in tables. According to the findings obtained, the majority of theses on the relevant subject are at the master's level. While the most studies were conducted in 2019, Middle East Technical University and Marmara University contributed the most to this field in terms of number. In the studies, the sample size was mostly preferred between 0-30, while it was concluded that a maximum of 3 weeks was allocated to the applications. The studies were mostly conducted with 7th grade students. Qualitative research was used in the vast majority of the studies. As a research design, case study was mostly preferred in qualitative studies, experimental study in quantitative studies, and explanatory sequential design in mixed studies. Interview was mostly used as a data collection tool. In the data analysis method, t-test was the most used technique in quantitative studies and content analysis in qualitative studies. Finally, in the studies related to the polygon type investigated, the most research was conducted on triangles. Various suggestions were presented in line with the results found.
