Abstract (EN)

Fund supply and demands have begun to be determined in the developing international markets, and it has been of great importance in the last half century in the economic framework. Such capital movements, which increase with the return of globalization, have positive effects for economic welfare in financial markets, as well as cause some negative effects as they make the economies of countries more vulnerable to the outside. Especially in periods of global crisis and trade wars, each country in the supply chain is affected negatively as much as the countries that are directly exposed to such negativities. Countries should have the right policies regarding the sectors with the highest added value in export items, which is one of the most important elements of economic growth and development, with sound policies in order not to deteriorate their economic structures in such crisis periods. Therefore, they should identify the actors in that sector for themselves and measure the effects of their partners in their own trade. The Iron and Steel industry is a critical industry that provides input for all sectors that enable modern economies and the globalizing world to function. It has been the focus of attention of governments for a long time, as it also forms the basis of economic development for countries. Turkey is among the most important crude steel producers in the world, and the iron and steel sector has a great importance in exports and imports. Analyzes were made through the Ucinet program for the years 2008 -2009 when the financial crisis was experienced and its effects were seen, and between the years of 2018 -2019, when the trade wars started and its effects were observed in this study. The countries used in the analyzes consist of the world's largest crude steel producers, including Turkey. First, the export matrices of these countries were created, and then complex network analyzes for the iron and steel industry were extracted from these matrices. The ego networks of the countries in the selected years, the positions and centers of the countries in the network were determined and their effects on the Turkish iron and steel industry were interpreted with findings obtained.
