Abstract (EN)

In this study, why and how the 2008 Crisis, which is the global crisis of capitalism that started in the housing market of the United States in 2008, then affected the financial markets of the country and finally spread to Europe and developing countries, affected the developing semi-peripheral countries Turkey and Brazil is examined. Firstly, to understand the emergence dynamics of the 2008 Crisis and how it affected other countries, the new order brought about by the neo-liberal economic system that started to be formed in the 1980s and how the semi-peripheral countries were integrated into this new order were discussed. The concept of financialization, which is at the root of the 2008 Crisis, and the globalization of financialization and making the economies of semi-peripheral countries dependent on hot money flow, international markets and foreign capital are explained in detail. Then, the structural and institutional actors that played a role in the emergence of the 2008 Crisis were examined. Finally, the neo-liberalization processes of semi-peripheral countries Turkey and Brazil's economies and their economic structures until 2008 have been explained, and the effects of the 2008 Crisis on financial and non-financial real sector markets have been examined. Consequently, this study will help us to understand neoliberal capitalism, financialization, globalization, the process of formation of the last major crisis produced by the capitalist system, and to gain an insight into how it affected the global economy, especially the developing late capitalist countries.
