AIM: In this study, we examined the malpractice and white code cases faced by emergency service workers between 2012 and 2019 and investigated how these cases were concluded by the Supreme Court. MATERIAL AND METHOD: In order to examine the results of the cases opened by Emergency Service Employees and against Emergency Service Employees between 01.01.2012 and 31.12.2019, the results of the lawsuits were reached through the link of 'yargıtay.gov.tr' and the results were analyzed retrospectively. FINDINGS: In this regard, 37 court results were submitted to the Supreme Court and concluded. Under the title of malpractice, the most frequent lawsuit was filed for misconduct (77.8%) and 77.8% of the lawsuits were filed against physicians. When the content of the case was read, the healthcare workers were mostly (55.6%) accused of causing death. 77.7 % of the malpractice cases were reversed by the Supreme Court and the remaining 22.2% was approved by the Supreme Court. In the lawsuits filed due to violence against healthcare professionals, the most common subject was the resistance (46.4%). It was followed by insulting healthcare workers (25%), damage to public property (17.9%) and deliberate injury (7.1%), and threatening employees (3.6%) was the subject of lawsuit. While the patient himself (64.3%) used violence the most, his relatives (35.7%) used violence in the second place. The healthcare workers who activated the white code system were determined as physicians (64.3%), security guards (21.4%), assistant health personnel (7.1%) and nurses (7.1%), respectively. 46.4% of these cases were sent back to the first court after being deemed incorrect in terms of procedure; 42.9% was repaired and 10.7% was deteriorated. RESULTS: Most of the lawsuits brought against healthcare professionals are under the title of misconduct. The most important reason for giving a white code is "resistance to duty" Approximately half of the cases in this group are deemed incorrect by the Court of Cassation in terms of procedure and are sent back to local courts.
