Emergency health services units, which are an inevitable necessity for human life, provide free and uninterrupted service for 24 hours in case of any emergency illness or injury. When unexpected health-related situations arise, lives are saved and potential damages are minimized through rapid and effective intervention. Although the establishment of emergency health systems in Turkey and around the world has a very short history, the organization of emergency health services varies across countries. In Turkey, emergency health services are accessed by ambulances directed from Command and Control Centers, which can be reached through the telephone number "112". Land, air and sea ambulances are used for transportation to emergencies. Ambulances are staffed by emergency medical technicians, doctors, paramedics and nurses depending on the type of ambulance. All equipment required for emergency medical intervention is available in the ambulance and these equipment can be easily accessed from inside the ambulance. This study was conducted by obtaining data on the number of Emergency Health Services Stations (EHSS), number of personnel, number of ambulances, number of cases, number of daily cases per station, population per station, population per ambulance, number of calls, average age of ambulances, and actual number of personnel per EHSS between 2013 and 2022 from Ankara Provincial Health Directorate. The research data were analyzed with distribution, percentages, frequencies, tables and graphs. In the study, the number of personnel and the population of Ankara show a parallel increase. Likewise, the number of cases and the population have been increasing over the years. As the years progress, the number of ASHİs, the number of personnel and the number of ambulances continue to increase. As the number of personnel increases, the actual number of personnel per station decreases as the number of stations also increases. While the number of ambulances is increasing, there is no significant decrease in the number of cases, indicating that the number of ambulances should be increased further. While the number of ambulances has increased, the average age of ambulances has also increased, indicating that the new ambulances may not be new models and that old vehicles have not been removed from the inventory. As a result of the research, an organization that has been growing over the years stands out. With the increase in Ankara's population, it is observed that the population per ASHİ has decreased, thus increasing the accessibility to 112 emergency health services. The increase in the number of ambulances and the number of ASHİs positively affects the provision of 112 Emergency Health Services. In addition, the decrease in the population per ambulance shows that the distribution of the increased number of ambulances is done correctly. In order to provide effective and accurate 112 emergency health services to Ankara province, which is expanding physically and increasing in terms of population, personnel recruitment should continue and the opening of ASHİs at critical points should be continued. In ambulance procurement, new model ambulances should be emphasized and old model ambulances should be used in other areas. In order to reduce the number of calls, the public should be supported with public service announcements and information should be provided about the situations in which the emergency call center should be called. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of pre-hospital emergency health services, to provide information about the current system in Ankara and to evaluate the status of pre-hospital emergency health services.
