Decipheringthe colorsusedin the environmental pollution themed illustration posters between 2015-2020 in terms of graphic design principles

As a society, the problems encountered in everyday life, problems affect life from the inside out. Many insensitive behaviors experienced around human beings disrupt cultural, commercial, moral order and balances throughout their lives. The events, phenomena and environmental factors that are developing on Earth affect not only humans, but all living species. Environmental pollution, which is also frequently encountered in social media sharing today and has now become a big problem, causes diseases, interaction disorders and ultimately deaths on people. To be sensitive to such problems encountered in the environment and to create awareness, all segments of society should show support for efforts to create solutions. In this study, fifteen illustrations of selected environmental pollution-themed poster designs made between Dec 2015 and 2020 were examined in terms of color usage. By adhering to the graphic design principles of the studies carried out, visual analysis was made in terms of consumption on society and target audience, ensuring compliance with the purpose of color usage. As a result of the research, the use of green tints, blue tints and brown tones, as well as the greenness of nature, the blue of the sky that gives confidence and tranquility in the designs of the colors used in the environmental pollution-themed illustration posters were analyzed in terms of graphic design principles.
