Determination of the accomplishment level of the social sciences attainments of the fifth grades, placed in the 2017-2018 new social studies curriculum, according to teachers' viewpoints

Social Studies curriculum for the first time in Turkey started to be implemented in 1968 and many changes have been made in content and scope to the present day. Finally, in 2017, a new curriculum was prepared and applied. In the newly prepared curriculum, there are many noticeable changes such as simplifying the content of the subject and reducing the number of learning outcomes. The research is about the determining the level of learning outcomes of the 5th Grade Social Studies course in the newly prepared curriculum according to the teachers' views. Within the scope of the research, it is aimed to determine the level of learning outcomes of the 5th Grade Social Studies course in 2017 according to the teachers' views. In this respect, although there are many studies in the literature about the learning outcomes in the previous curriculum, this research will be one of the first studies related to learning outcomes in the new curriculum. Quantitative research method and descriptive survey model were used in this research, which was conducted to determine the level of the learning outcomes of 5th Grade Social Studies course according to teachers' views. In this study, 60 social studies teachers who conducted 5th grade social studies course in the secondary schools of National Education Directorate in Tokat provience were applied a questionnaire including open ended questions. In the research, 2017-2018 New 5th Grade Social Studies Course Achievement According to Teachers' View Survey consisting of three parts as a data collection tool was used. The data obtained form 57 questionnaires were analyzed by frequency, percentage , mean, standard deviation, t test, one way and scheffe test techniques with the help of SPPS statistical program.
