Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to evaluate the social studies curriculum, which has been applied in all classes since the academic year 2018-2019, according to the views of the social studies teachers and to determine the differentiation status of teachers' views according to gender, educational status, graduated department, seniority year in the profession and place of residence of the school where they work. The screening model was used in the study. The universe of the research consists of 236 social studies teachers working in Tokat and all districts in the academic year 2018-2019. Simple random sampling method was used and 157 social studies teachers were employed in the study. The research data were collected with a total of 28 items, including teachers' opinions on the curriculum, which included personal information and elements of the program. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage, skewness, stickiness, standard deviation and t test and one way variance test were used. From the research findings, it was found that teachers generally had positive opinions regarding the target component of the program; that the content item is not in proper intensity, is not prepared for memorization and is not intended for practical purposes; it is not suitable for the individual's interests and needs, the developmental characteristics and readiness levels of the students; It was concluded that the teaching time devoted to the teaching-learning process was inadequate and that the assessment and evaluation methods and techniques were not applicable in terms of time and that individual differences were not taken into consideration in the measurement and evaluation process. There was no significant difference in the views of the teachers about the program in terms of gender, educational status, graduated department / program, vocational seniority, and the location of the school where the duty school was located. Based on the findings of the research, it is suggested that the course hours should be increased for the learning-teaching and measurement-evaluation process, and that the content of the program should be improved in terms of the suitability of the content of the program to the interests and needs of the individual, its intensity, distance from memorization, and the developmental characteristics and readiness of the students. Key words: Social studies, social studies curriculum, social studies teacher
