Abstract (EN)

With the leadership of Erbakan, this formation which taking a role in Turkish political life with Fair Order thesis sustained its power in a dynamic way, despite a number of military coups during the process. These groups, who came out special norms and hardly compromise their values, were in detachment position until 28 February. With the process of 28 February, some of these people started to dispute the existing policies. This political formation divided two basic forms after 28 February process. The group, which was determined to support the existing policies, was named "Gelenekçiler". Erdoğan and his followers who expressed themselves new face of party were called "Yenilikçi". This new group which institutionalized with the name of "Ak Parti" in political spectrum revealed their claim "conservative democrats" to the society. The basic goal of this thesis is to examine the conservatives that were forced to mental transformation. Beside administration of these people, which has been under close chase of state since the foundation of republic, will be explicated. Exploring the policies while implementing mental transformation of this group is another goal of this thesis. In first part of the thesis, Conservatism in Turkish political life and political parties which Erbakan organized, are surveyed. In the second part of thesis, February 28 Process is displayed its before and after. In the third part, foundation of Ak Party and its periods of rule are analyzed. In the last part of the thesis, Ak Party's confrontation with basic problems of country and social events targeting Ak Party are studied. Datas related with Election of Presidency are presented this part.
