Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to determine the integration process of 3D modeling and printing into 6th grade Social Studies course and the students views about this process. Since the research is aimed to determine the problem situation in detail, the study was carried out using basic qualitative research, one of the qualitative research designs based on participatory observation. The research was applied to a branch in 6th grade in Necatibey secondary school in Bilecik / Bozüyük district in the spring term of 2017-2018 academic year. Different data collection tools were used in different stages of the research. These; observation notes to collect qualitative data, research diaries, student diaries, video recordings, student interview forms, it consists of 3 dimensional designs and models created by the students in line with the gains. 3D modeling and printing activities were given in line with the social studies course gains during the five-week application process of the research. Moreover semi-structured interviews were conducted with the students who were applied after the research activity processes. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the use of 3D model and printer in social studies course had a positive effect on the participation and interest of the students. The use of 3D model and printing in the social studies course shows that the concepts in the social studies curriculum can be used as a tool for acquiring basic competencies, skills and gains.
