Özet (EN)

In the Ottoman Empire, the first census in the modern sense has begun in 1831.Before this date, censuses have been done for tax and land determination purposes in different periods. These censuses were insufficient to give detailed information about the general structure of the region. However, the books obtained as a result of the censuses in the modern sense contain important information about the socio-economic, administrative and demographic structure of that period. In our study, the population in the Ottoman Empire and the short history of the Tefenni District were discussed based on the Tefenni Muslim Population Book registered with the NFS.d code, number 3268 of Presidency Ottoman Archives for the year H.1256 / M.1840, and the data from that book has been examined.Accordingly, the names, nicknames, titles and professions of the Muslim male population registered in the book has beenhandled. As a result, the transcript of the bookhas been made and the results obtained were converted into tables and graphics.
