Transcription and analysis of Kütahya record of religious affairs numbered 38

This study aims to examine the city of Kütahya in the middle of the 19th century from a social, cultural and economic perspective. In order to reveal these values, the Kütahya Sharia register numbered 38 dated 1279-1281 H 1863-1865 M was selected.In the management of the city, reflections of the 19th century administrative system in the provinces can be seen.Based on the registry examined, it is understood that commercial activities in the city are concentrated in the castle and its surroundings. It is seen that non-Muslims and Muslims live together in Kütahya, there is no polygamy, divorced women and orphaned children are protected. The study shows the practices of protecting the rights of orphaned children in the example of Kütahya.
