Abstract (EN)

Disease treatment success is determined by factors such as the patient's genetics, age, gender, diet, and lifestyle. In recent years, there has been a lot of interest in the topic of dosage form design and production for the production of individualized medicine. Personalized medication increases the effectiveness of doctor-prescribed treatment while decreasing unpleasant side effects. Traditional large-scale medication manufacturing processes restrict tablet geometric shape and therapeutic dose adjustment, making tailored pharmaceuticals impossible to produce. 3D printing technologies are for the pharmaceutical industry, allowing for the combined production of active substances in patients using multiple drugs, the use of personalized dose amounts, small-scale, low-cost, faster and easier production, as well as controlling drug release and reducing side effects by creating various geometric shapes. It has several advantages, including cost savings. Spritam® (levetiracetam), the first drug produced by 3D printing, was approved by the FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) in 2015. Since then, interest in 3D printing has steadily grown. In the scope of this thesis, tablets of our model medicine olanzapine with various geometric shapes were 3D printed in the FDA-approved, biodegradable, and thermoplastic PVA polymer. The output (release) qualities of our model medicine were determined using our designed suitable formulations, and the findings were assessed using completed product controls of the tablets.
