Abstract (EN)

The biological activities of previously synthesized copper, nickel and cobalt complexes of (2E)-2-[4-(diethylamino)benzylidene]-N-[(1Z,2E)-N-hidroxy-2-(hydroxyimino) ethanimidoyl] hydrazine carbothioamide (L1), (2E)-2-[4-(dimethylamino) benzylidene]-N-[(1Z,2E)-N-hidroxy-(hydroxyimino)ethanimidoly]hydrazine) carbothioamide (L2), and (1Z,2E)-N-[(2E)-2-(4-ethoxybenzylidene) hydrazino] carbonothionyl]-N′-hydroxy-2-(hydroxyimino) ethanimidamide (L3) are investigated. The cytotoxicities of Cu(II) complexes containing L1 and L2 ligands were obtained using cell series HL-60. The Cu(II) complex including L1 ligand it is considered as potential anticancer agent at 5-20 mM concentration. L3 also showed antibacterial and antifungal effects. In this study it is aimed to investigate the interaction between of previously synthesized planar [4-(dialkylaminobenzyliden)hydrazine carbothioamide]2Cu(II) neutral complexes with DNA by using UV-Vis titration, fluorometer and agarose gel electrophoresis. When the results were evaluated, it was found that their complexes were bound to DNA by intercalation and they also cleave the DNA in agarose gel electrophoresis study. These binding and DNAase activity complexes are thought to be proportional to the earlier reported cytotoxic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal biological activities.
