Özet (EN)

This research has been made in order to determine in which way the piano training that 5-6 year-old children receive has been affecting the development of motor skills, and to reveal the differences between the children who receive the piano training and those who don?t, relating to the motor skills of them.The sample of the research involves 22 children- randomly chosen from a preschool children who are divided into 2 groups; one group receives the piano training and the other group doesn?t.The children who are in the groups of sample have been applied both 4 sub-tests which consist of 3 divisions of Bruininks- Oseretsky Test Of Motor Proficiency as to evaluate the motor skills.In the data collected, it has been confirmed that piano training has formed a positive and meaningful difference according to the development of motor skills.Based on the results reached, it is proposed that the institutional infrastructure to enable the preschool children in the age group of 5 ? 6 to receive piano training be handled in terms of training personnel who are professionals in supplies (music room, piano etc.) and program development, that preschool music profession of teaching and instrument pedagogy disciplines be opened in the structures of Fine Arts Education departments of Faculties of Education, that the programs of piano training among the general musical training be developed and that the families be helped gain the awareness of helping preschool children start to play instruments.
