ABSTRACTMaster Of Science ThesisSYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SCHIFF BASE LIGANDS OFSALICYLALDEHYDE DERIVATIVES WITH 5-PHENYL-6H-1,3,4-THIADIAZINE-2-AMINE AND ITS COMPLEXESHüseyin AYDINFırat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied SciencesDepartment of Chemistry2006,Page:39In this work, two new ligands containing thiadiazin group, 4-{(E)-[(5-phenyl-6H-1,3,4-thiadiazin-2-yl)imino]methyl}benzene-1,3-diol and 4-bromo-2-{(E)-[(5-phenyl-6H-1,3,4-thiadiazine-2-yl)imino]methyl}phenol have been synthesized. From these ligands, metal complexes of Ni(II),Cu(II) and Co(II) have been synthesized.The structure of the ligands and complexes have been investigated by instrumental methods,FT-IR, NMR, melting points, elemental analysis, UV-visible spectroscopu and magneticsusceptibility.According to obtained results it was found that the metal to ligand ratio in the complexes is1:2 ıt was found that experimental and therotical results are in agreement witheachother.Key words: thiadiazin, schiff base, metal complex
