Identification of interaction of 5- fluoro isatin thiosemicarbazone derivatives with DNA and determination of their antimicrobial activities

Abstract (EN)

5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-2-Fluoro phenyl) thiosemicarbazone, 5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-4-Fluoro phenyl) thiosemicarbazone, 5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-4-Nitro phenyl) thiosemicarbazone, 5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-2-Fluoro phenyl)-Zn thiosemicarbazone, 5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-4-Fluoro phenyl)-Zn thiosemicarbazone and 5-Fluoro isatin -3-(N-4-Nitro phenyl)-Zn thiosemicarbazone were synthesized by the reaction of 5-Fluoro isatin thiosemicarbazide derivatives. Antibacterial activity was studied for selected bacteria. Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopic method was used to investigate the interaction of Calf Thymus DNA (CT-DNA) with these synthesized molecules. The compounds (1-6) showed inhibition zones on Serratia marrescens, Staphylococcus huminis, Staphylococcus edidermis and Klebsiella pneumonia. In addition, compounds (1-6) displayed interaction with CT-DNA. These compounds may be potential drugs according to their effects on CT-DNA and microorganisms. Besides further studies may be suggested to evaluate in vivo mode of action and toxicity of these compounds.
