Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to see the effectiveness of the practices based on the activities in values training, responsibilities, patriotism, love of flag, respect for flag and National Anthem and independence values applied in Social Studies course to the 5th grade students. The research was continued in one of the private educational institutions located in Yenimahalle, Ankara in 2017-2018 academic year with the participation of 5th grade students including 8 girls and 7 boys, totaly with 15 students. In the research process, the teacher was found in the research field and continued to investigate with his role as a teacher. The research was made through the study of qualitative research methods and the collected data was obtained through document examination. The activities used in the study were prepared in the context of the acquisition and skills of the Social studies Curriculum (MEB, 2017). The findings of the research were obtained with the work sheets consisting of the Know-Want-Learn assessment forms and values training activities that were applied before and after the event applications. The data obtained were subject to content analysis and descriptive analysis and the codes and themes have been reached. At the end of the research,it was observed that prepared activities raised awareness of responsibility, patriotism, love of flag, respect for the flag and the anthem and independence.
