Abstract (EN)
The study aimed to examine the effects of STEM activities on 5th grade students' success, STEM attitudes and self-efficacy beliefs towards learning science. The study was conducted with 5th grade students in a secondary school in Ankara in the 2nd Term of the 2022-2023 academic year. Quantitative research method was used in the research. Achievement test, STEM attitude scale, self-efficacy belief scale for learning science were used to collect data. SPSS 20.0 statistical program was used to analyze the data in the study. While the STEM applications developed by the researcher were applied in the experimental group, the application was applied based on the 5th grade science textbook in the control group. When the student achievement test averages are examined after the application, it is seen that there is a significant difference between the groups in terms of posttest scores in favor of the experimental group. When the STEM attitude scale averages were examined, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups. When the self-efficacy belief scores for science learning were examined, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups. At the end of the research, it was seen that the activities developed for STEM education had a positive effect on increasing success. In this sense, it is recommended that science teachers use STEM-based activities in lessons.
