The influence of 5th grade visual arts lesson designed by multi-disciplinary art education method on students' artistic creativity and attitudes towards the visual arts lesson

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of 5th grade Visual Arts lesson that organized according to the Multi-Field Art Education Method on students' artistic creativity and attitudes towards the lesson. In this study was used Pretest-Posttest Random Assignment with Matchin which is one of the Experimental Desing. The working group consisted of 57 students who were studying at Çanakkale Province Ömer Mart Secondary School in 2018-2019 academic years. In order to obtain the planned data from the research while Multi-Field Art Education method was used for the experiment group, traditional teaching methods were chosen for the control group. Pictorial Creativity Test developed by Yolcu (2001) and Visual Arts Lesson Attitude Scale developed by Alakuş (2002) were carried out to both group before and after in order to obtain the related data. After pretests and test of normality was carried out, lesson process was launched for experiment and control group and then was practiced posttests. In order to analyze the data that obtained from participants was used Repeated Measures Anova. At the end of the research, sub-dimensions and in total of Pictorial Creativity Test found statistically significant difference on behalf of experiment group that was used Multi-Field Art Education Method. However no significant difference was found when the test was examined completely according to gender variable. When the data that was obtained from Visual Arts Lesson Attitude Scale examined, a significant increase was observed between the pre-test post-test attitude scores of the experimental group participants. According to the gender variable, despite the fact that the attitude scores of the female and male students in the experimental group increased compared to the control group, it was seen that this increase isn't statistically significant. Given these results it was understood that DBAE significantly increased the artistic creativity of the students.
