Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate whether the use of teaching materials in fifth grade music lessons is effective in terms of student success and to contribute to the field by providing sample materials and course plans that can be used in music lessons. In this study, semi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group was used, and the study group consisted of two classes, consisting of 30 people, whose characteristics were determined to be equivalent among the fifth grades of education at Mehlika Alevli Secondary School, which is located in Şahinbey District of Gaziantep province. An expert opinion form and Music Lesson Academic Achievement Test developed by the researcher in order to collect data were used. First, a pre-test was applied to experimental and control group students in order to measure the pre-knowledge and readiness of the students and to obtain data that can compare the learning situation in the application result. After that, while the program prepared for the study of the subjects by using the instructional materials prepared by the researcher is applied to the experimental group for a total of 6 weeks, one course per VIII week, the control group has been taught in line with the book which determined by the Ministry of National Education as a course book, without using any teaching material other than materials such as writing boards and textbooks. In order to determine the effect of the study as a result of these applications, the pre-test applied to the experiment and control group was applied again as the post-test. The data were analyzed with the help of SPSS 25 program. The normality analysis of the data was carried out and the normal distribution was observed. For this reason, dependent and independent t-tests were used in the analysis. Cohen's d formula was used in calculating the effect size. As a result of the research, it was observed that the success test scores of the class in which music lessons are processed with material support were higher. Based on this, it has been concluded that material-assisted processing of music lessons has an effect on the success of music lessons.
