Infringement of moral, economic or related rights regulated in Intellectual and Artistic Works Code numbered 5846

Protection of copyright, enforcement of rights of copyright owners and related right holders, has great importance in the progress of societies. So far in Turkey, protection of copyright has been researched deeply within the scope of private law by many authors. Nevertheless, relatively very few research has been undergone on penal protection of moral, economic and related rights of copyright owners and right holders. In this study, an investigation of properties in penal protection of moral economic and related rights, according to the article 71 of Intellectual and Artistic Works Code, titled under ?infringement of moral, economic and related rights? is aimed. In this context, first, basic terms that are essential in penal protection of intellectual and artistic works, and historical development of this protection are generally examined and main international regualtions and similar foreign regulations in this area are pointed out. Next, crimes related with infringement of moral, economic and related rights are investigated one by one.
