Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the children's magazines published for the 6-14 age group in terms of today's world problems. For this purpose, children's magazine's; cover pages, the content of the titles, the content during the Covid-19 pandemic and the text types in the content were examined in the context of today's world problems. Qualitative research method was used in the study. Criterion sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was used to determine the study group. The study group, which was determined according to certain criteria, consisted of 60 issues of five different children's magazines. Document analysis was used to collect the data and content analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the findings obtained in the study; Today's world "animal problems" are the most mentioned on magazine covers. 23.9% of the topics in the content of the children's magazines examined are related to today's world problems. It has been determined that the most frequently mentioned problem in the contents of the journal is the corona virus (epidemics). The most frequently expressed problems among the categories created for today's world problems belong to the "problems related to population" category. Among the categories created for today's world problems, the least used problems belong to the category of "problems related to agriculture and animal husbandry". It has been seen that the contents of the magazine are mostly given place to the issues related to today's world problems in the first months (April-May-June) when the Covid-19 pandemic started. The themes of today's world problems in the contents of the magazine are mostly given as "informative text" type articles. Based on these results; It is necessary to include the themes of today's world problems more frequently in order for children to grow up more consciously in the titles and content of the magazines, to remind children's responsibilities towards world problems by giving more frequent place to the days, weeks, institutions, agreements and laws related to today's world problems in children's magazines.
