Abstract (EN)

In this research study which was aimed to examine sixth and seventy grade students' attitudes towards social studies lesson in point of several variables, was used scanning model. The population of study composed of 17320 sixth-and seventh-grade who continuing education at 90 secondary school located in the central district of Malatya. The sample study is composed of 1004 sixth and seventh grade students randomly selected from 22 schools in the city center of Malatya at 2013-2014 academic year. The data used in this study, was obtained by implementing 'Student Information Form' and 'Social Studies Attitude Scale' to students in the classroom at the first semester of 2013-2014 academic year. The datas transferred to a computer then was found data's descriptive statistics and it was examined distribution of data to determine whether or not change according to some variables. Result of Normality Test, it was seen that datas distribute anormal and for this reason it was decided to analyze non-parametric test. Datas for analyse with SPSS software, was used Mann-Whitney U test for two independent variables such as grade, gender and Kruskal-Wallis H test for more than two independent variables such as age, number of sibling, parent's education and profession, the famil's economic situation. For the variables that was found differ significantly each other as a resault of Kruskal-Wallis H test, was tested with Mann-Whitney U test in twain and it was determined that the difference between which groups. As a result of this study, it has been reached knowledges that students have a positive attitude towards social studies and these attitudes isn't change for grade, age, number of siblings, father's education level, family's monthly income and father's occupation. But it change for gender, mother's education level and mother's occupation.
