Examination of the relationship between the creative thinking and self-efficacy belief in learning science of 6th and 7th grade students (Afyonkarahisar sample)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between creative thinking and science based self efficacy of 6th and 7th grade students. 1026, 6th and 7th grade students in Afyonkarahisar constitute the sample of the study. In this study the relational screning model was used to determine relation between creative thinking and science basedself efficacy of students. In this study "Marmara Creative Thinking Dispositions Scale", "Science Learning Self-Efficacy Belief Scale for Middle School Students" and "Information form" are used as data collector tool. Descriptive statistic, t-test, one way ANOVA, pearson moment correlations and simple linear regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data. The result of the analyzes was observed that there is a positive, significant and medium level relationship between students' creative thinking and their self-efficacy beliefs of learning science. However, it was also found that 6th and 7th grade students' creative thinking was a predictor of their self-efficacy beliefs about learning science.
