Abstract (EN)
This study was prepared by consulting to the surveyapproaches of 86 teachers who teach 6-8 year old children primarypiano courses / education in music insitutions based on TurkishMinistry of National Education, municipality conservatories, PublicEducation Centers and private schools, and to 16 piano teachersspecialised on their profession from Education Faculties in Ankara ,İstanbul and İzmir and their associated Conservatories.The aim of this thesis is to enable children to increase therelated knowledge in memorisation (internalisation) by further usingtheir tactile, auditory and visual sensess tends to play anddramatisation when creative drama methodology and / or techniquesare applied to piano training, elicite their ability of immitationsthrough feeling their emotional, bodily and mathemathical conceptsand gain habits of making and listening to music by means of socialcommunication skills.Piano is a screened instrument with a wide spectrum of soundand without any intonation problems. The purpose of piano trainingfor the children of 6-8 years old is to educate and trainindividuals who could love, listen to and understand music, and whocould have a wide range of expression skills.The process of education of piano consists of theory(rhetoric) practice,creativity and interpretation. Physical,cognitive, emotional and movemental properties of children are majorelements which influence the process of piano education.Family, environment, teachers? motivations, releatedmethodology, and techniques enable children to love and play pianowith pleasure. A piano teacher should utilise the creative dramamethod, a contemporary education of art so as to elicit and developethe factors of which influence the process of piano education inchildren.Creative drama means that participants can improvise someactions or roles based on their own creativity, unique thinkingknowledge and moments without referring to any written texts. Bymeans of playing, one can create new fictional worlds from the realworld. The process of creative of drama is efficient inparticipation of the child in learning activities and encouragementof imaginary thinking.Before starting to play piano, the child has already relaxedphysically and emotionally through warm - up drills. Theabstractness in technical performance is expressed and described bymeans of pandomime, images, stories and tales. Occasionially,through dramatisations or improvisations, skills of conception,comprehension and technicality are substantiated.A coloured picture, drawing ,exercise , and various visualdrills will shorten the process of learning thanks to emotions.Feelings of the child, love of music and piano education will bemore permanent through practising and experiencing.For acquired skills and knowledge to be more permanent andreinforcing at the end of excercises, the teacher can take notes ona notebook and assess what is going on as constructive feedbacks-retrospections considering learner?s developmental aspects.Thanks to such an assesments, one can elicit the child?sanxieties, fears and potentials, with right conceptions of his ownskills being acquired by him or her.The study in question states that play and play material canbe used in role-playing improvisation, story-telling and piano-playing for 6-8 year-old children and therefore increase love formusic, imagination and creativity which is all supported bynumerious teachers and specialists. We should not consider thatcreative drama could cause many failures when it is not usedproperly and where necessary.This study includes assessments and analyses of some expertsand piano teachers for the matter involved.The study data was completed with result and suggestionsections.Key words: 6-8 year old children piano education, initialphase creative drama, interview.
