Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study was carried out to synthesize new 6-aminouracil azo dyes and their metal complexes and to determine some of their spectral properties. Material and Methods: In the thesis study, from the coupling reaction of 6-aminouracil with some diazotized aminophenols, the corresponding azo dyes were obtained according to the diazo-coupling method. The complexes Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) complexes of these azo dyes prepared were formed by the basic o,o-dihydroxy azo complexation method. Results: The chemical structures of all dyes obtained were characterized using FT-IR, Micro element analysis and 1H-13C-NMR spectroscopic technices and the structures of metal complexes using FT-IR spectroscopic technic. The effects of acid, base and solvent change on the absorption spectra of the dyes were examined. Conclusion: 6-aminouracil azo dyes and their metal(II) complexes were successfully synthesized and the effects of solvent, substituent, acid and base on the absorption spectra of dyes were examined. It was concluded that BM1-BM4 is in the hydrazone structure, BM1-BM4 is in a monostable form in acidic medium and ionized in basic medium. Key words: Azo dye, spectroscopy, metal complexes, aminouracil, aminophenols
