Abstract (EN)
This study investigated the effect of 6-week plyometric training (PT) on physical performance parameters in young female volleyball players. In the present study, the participants were randomly divided into two groups as plyometric training group (n = 17; age = 15.06 ± 0.83; height = 164.12 ± 4.26; weight = 55.95 ± 7.80) and control group (n = 17; age = 15.00 ± 0.79; height = 165.89 ± 4.69; weight = 54.61 ± 9.22). PT, it lasted six weeks and three times a week for approximately 90-120 minutes. Sprint, jump, agility, and repeated sprint ability tests were performed before and after the training. According to the findings of the study, after six weeks of PT, the results of 5m (p < 0.001), 10m (p < 0.001), T-agility test (p < 0.001), active jump (p < 0.001), Squat jump (p < 0.001) and repeated sprint ability test of the PT group were statistically significant compared to the control group. According to these findings, it was seen that the PT group showed more improvement in speed, agility, jumping, and repeated sprint ability than the control group. According to the study results, a safe and effective plyometric training program tailored to individual needs and goals can help improve performance in young female volleyball players due to proper plyometric training programming and gradual progression to avoid overtraining or injuries.
