Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it is aimed to research the effect of psychological skill (mental) training on the football referees' self-confidence, anxiety, and mental toughness. Materials and Methods: A total of 30 football referees including 15 referees in the experimental and 15 refereesin the control group in the city of Izmir attended in the research. The groups pre-organized by the researcher were assigned as experimentaland control groups appropriately for the purpose.The variousscales were applied to the both groups. This process was called as a pre-test process. Then, the experimental group received the pre-decided 6-weeks psychological skill (mental) training. Findings: Results: One of the results of the research demonstrated that psychological skill (mental) training improved the self-confidence level of the football referees. Another result showed that psychological skill (mental) training decreased the anxiety level of the football referees. The other resultindicated that psychological skill (mental) training didn't bring any change in the professional burn-out level of the football referees.
