Recently, steel structures have an important place in modern structural engineering. However, regulations on structural steel design were needed. There are two basic design principles related to the regulations used in dimensioning. One of these, allowable stress design has been used so much in the last century. Bearing capacity design which is more rational has started to be used in recent years. As it is known, TS 648 'Calculation and Construction Rules of Steel Structures' published in 1980 is the standard of our country. A large part of this standard deals with safety stresses design approach. However, due to insufficient standards, 'Principles of Design, Calculation and Construction of Steel Structures' was published in 2016. This regulation covers safety coefficients and load and strength coefficients design approaches. These two existing regulations are based on different design principles. Within the scope of this thesis, informations are given about the safety stress and bearing capacity designs. TS 648 'Calculation and Construction Rules of Steel Structures' standard and 'Principles of Design, Calculation and Construction of Steel Structures' regulation used in the dimensioning steel structures, material quality, material classes, axial tensile, axial compression, bending and the other dimensioning rules related to the strength cases were dimensioned by comparing them on a 6-storey center steel cross building. While the building elements were dimensioned, the combinations of the regulations were taken into consideration and the differences between them were examined.
