Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis study to make comparison between manual dosecalculation and computer planning system with the ThermoluminescenceDosimeter (TLD) method where it is an important issue in radiotherapy. Withthis aim, not only the deep dose distribution used in standart treatmentdistances dose profile, dose efficiency is evaluated in far distances again, butalso the lateral scattering factor which can affect the dose in tissue is examined.Accepting the umblicus median dose as the reference dose in AP/PA position, the manual calculations done to estimate the dose values in different parts of thebody are repeated in a treatment dose planning computer with a TBI optionand the results are compared with the real irradiation values obtained fromTLD measurements. During these irradiations a randophantom which hasequivalent tissue density with humans? is used. The results are found inharmony with the ones in the literature. As the median of the body was takeninto consideration in the comparisons, the dose of the organs at risk and tissueheterogenities should seperately be considered in the real treatment conditions.Key Words : TBI, TLD, AP/PA
