Abstract (EN)
Social Studies course aims to equip students with knowledge, skills, and values of multidimensional living conditions. Problem-based learning, one of the learning approaches used in Social Studies education, intends to provide students with the relevant skills through problems of daily life and aims to teach students the entrepreneurship that people need today. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of problem-based learning on the entrepreneurship level of students taking the 6th grade Social Studies course. Embedded mixed design was used to carry out the study. The participants of the study consist of 6th grade students studying at a public secondary school in Ağrı during 2020-2021 academic year and a Social Studies teacher working in the school. The data were collected with the Entrepreneurship Scale for Secondary School Students, semi-structured interview forms, unstructured observation, anecdote, researcher's diary, and checklists. For the statistical analysis, t-test and split-plot ANOVA were used for independent samples, and inductive analysis technique was used for the analysis of the qualitative data. The findings revealed that the problem-based learning had a statistically significant impact on the entrepreneurship level of the students in the experimental group. Moreover, it was determined that the participants considered problem-based learning as an approach contributing to the entrepreneurship level of the students. It is suggested that problem-based learning can be benefited from in the Social Studies course.
