Özet (EN)
In this research, we aimed to perform validity and reliability works of ?Evaluation Control List for Print Awareness of Preschoolers? prepared to evaluate writing awareness of preschoolers and ?Evaluation Control List for Writing Readiness Skills of Preschoolers? prepared to evaluate preparation skills for writing of preschoolers. Moreover we aimed to identify the effects of the reading and writing evaluation programme on the children?s print awareness and on development of preparation skills for writing of 60 ? 72 months old preschoolers. The universe of the research is consist of 60 ? 72 months old preschoolers attending kintergarten in primary schools in Altındağ, Çankaya, Keçiören, Mamak and Yenimahalle districts in Ankara city center. In 2010 ? 2011 Educational Term. 400 children took part in workgroup in order to perform the reliability and validity works of ?Evaluation Control List for Print Awareness of Preschoolers? prepared to evaluate writing awareness of preschoolers. 55 children took part in work group in order to perform reliability and validity works of ?Evaluation Control List for Writing Readiness Skills of Preschoolers? prepared to evaluate prescoolers? preparation skills for writing. In the results of the research, we identified that ?Evaluation Control List for Print Awareness of Preschoolers? and ?Evaluation Control List for Writing Readiness Skills of Preschoolers? are valid and reliable for 60 ? 72 months old children. After validity and reliability works, the model with pre-test and post-test control group was used to identify the effects of preparation for reading and writing programme, developed by the researcher, on the print awareness of the children and development of preparation skills for writing. Before and after the application of preparation for reading and writing programme, we used ?Evaluation Control List for Print Awareness of Preschoolers? to identify print awareness; and ?Evaluation Control List for Writing Readiness Skills of Preschoolers? to identify preparation skills for writing of the children in experiment group (n:15) and in control group (n: 15). In the research, we applied preparation for reading and writing programme of half an hour a day, 3 days a week during 8 weeks. After preparation for reading and writing programme, we identified a significant difference on behalf of experiment group in the scores they got in ?Evaluation Control List for Print Awareness of Preschoolers? and ?Evaluation Control List for Writing Readiness Skills of Preschoolers? (p< 0.01). We observed that the effects of the programme continue in persistency test on the persistency of the programme.Based on these findings, we offered some suggestions for educators, families, and future scientific researches in order to develop preschoolers? print awareness and preparation skills for writing.
