Revıew of application of people over 65 years to primary care for ınjury and accident

According to the data of World Health Organisation (WHO), 600 millions of people over 60 years old, are living all over the world. This number is expected to doubling in 2025 and to reach 2 billion in 2050. United Nations (UN) and WHO, drawing attention to the elderly population is increasing gradually, thus, individuals were urged to start the necessary measures to improve the quality of life before they are getting old.Among the American people over the age of 65, the seventh cause of death is trauma. 25% of all injury-related deaths constitute elderly individuals. Changes due to aging and risk factors of injury determined in advance and take the necessary precautions can be protected with the quality of life of many elderly, in this way, disability can be prevented and the burden of their families can be reduced. Primary care physicians, should be aware of this important issue, all the elderly people admitted to them for any reason, accident and injury history should be evaluated in terms of risk of injury if not.For this purpose, we planned a questioned research, how to prevent disruption the quality of life of elderly people and the underlying causes of injuries and accidents. We examined the frequency and types of accident and injury, admitted to the institutions providing primary care services to a broad sample of individuals aged over 65.
