Özet (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between the attachment styles of children aged 7-12 years and school achievement. The data of the study were collected by random sampling method among 204 students whose ages ranged from 7 to 12 and whose education life was in Mersin between the academic years of 2017-2018. The success score that is related to the attachment style in the research is calculated by looking at the grades of the students for 2016-2017 education year. Participants were selected from grades 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 as there was no general grade average grade for the first year of primary school. An informing form was sent to the parents of the students before the research and permission was obtained. A data form with demographic information, Kerns Secure Attachment Scale, and Near Relatives Inventory II- Middle Childhood Scale were applied to the students. The data obtained within the given data sheet and scales were analyzed statistically by SPSS 21 package program. When the results were examined, none of the attachment styles appeared to differ significantly in terms of gender, mother's education level, and the caregiver. When the relationship between the attachment styles and the grade average is examined, it is seen that there is a positive correlation and a high level of correlation between grade point average and only safe attachment scores.
