Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to investigate 7th grade students' negotiation acts in engineering design process based on their argumentation training statuses. Research was carried out in the spring semester of 2018-2019 academic year with 33 7th grade students studying at a public school in İyidere district or Rize province. A multiple case study approach was user in this research. One case was consisted of students that received argumentation training while other group was not received argumentation training. Data was collected through audio recordings during engineering design tasks and researcher's observation notes in a total of four activities. Based on the results it was seen that evaluation, agreement, counterproposing and dissent negotiation acts were the most used in the group that received argumentation training. Explanation negotiation act increased from first to last activity in the group that received argumentation training. Implications were given for argumetation integration in engineering design process. Keywords: Argumentation, Engineering Design Processes, Negotiation Acts, STEM
