Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine whether the 8-week core strength training of 13-17 year old licensed wrestlers in İzmir has a significant effect on functional movement screening test scores. In the research, the quasi-experimental model method with pre-test post-test design was applied and 15 experiments and 15 controls were carried out with a total of 30 licensed wrestlers. In the analysis of the data, repeated measures analysis of variance (Repeated Measures ANOVA) was used. According to the research findings; While there was a -21.84% decrease in the values of the experimental group in the Flamingo Balance Test; an increase of 2.84% is observed in the control group values. At 20 meters, there was a decrease of -4.94% in the values of the experimental group; on the other hand, there was a -2.13% decrease in the control group values. While there was a 20.10% increase in the values of the experimental group in Deep Squat; a decrease of -0.96% is observed in the control group values. While there was an increase of 17.17% in the experimental group values in Taking Disabled Steps; a decrease of -0.43% is observed in the control group values. In the Sequential Move, there was a 33.17% increase in the experimental group values; an increase of 0.51% is observed in the control group values. In Active Straight Leg Lift, there was an increase of 17.19% in the experimental group values; an increase of 2.12% is observed in the control group values. While there was an increase of 13.72% in the experimental group values in push-ups; an increase of 0.89% is observed in the control group values. While an increase of 34.10% occurred in the experimental group values in Rotational Stability; a decrease of -1.12% is observed in the control group values. In the Plank Test, an increase of 15.69% occurred in the experimental group values; an increase of 2.97% is observed in the control group values. After all; It was revealed that 8 weeks of core strength training improved the core endurance of 13-17 year old licensed wrestlers, reduced the risk of injury and achieved better core stabilization results.
