Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to reveal the relationship between 8th grade students' anxiety and hopelessness levels. When the method and the data obtained are evaluated, it is understood that it is a descriptive study. The population of the thesis consists of 794 students studying in secondary schools in Canik, Kavak, Asarcık and İlkadım districts of Samsun. The whole universe was taken as a sample. In this study, Beck Hopelessness Scale was used as data collection method. The first 9 questions of the scale are aimed at obtaining the personal information of the students. The data obtained with the scale which was formed with a total of 20 questions were analyzed with various statistical methods. The Turkish version of the Children's Test Anxiety Scale was used to determine students' anxiety level. The scale consists of a total of 30 questions and consists of a four-point scoring system. What is the anxiety level of the students according to the research findings? was answered in three sub-dimensions and evaluated as total test anxiety score. When exam anxiety levels of students were examined by gender, it was found that exam anxiety scale thoughts, autonomic responses subscale scores and total scale scores showed significant differences in the non-task subscale. According to the educational status of their fathers, it was determined that the scores they got from the sub-dimensions of Exam Anxiety Scale and the scale total did not show statistically significant difference. According to the mother education level, there was no significant difference in the non-task behaviors and autonomic reactions sub-dimension and there was a significant difference in the level of exam anxiety in viii the thoughts sub-dimension. 8. There was no significant difference according to the average income level. As the total scores of the Test Anxiety Scale increased, Beck Hopelessness Scale scores increased. In general, it can be said that the level of hopelessness decreases as the test anxiety increases.
