This thesis is concerned with studying and investigating the manuscript of "Mukhtasar Sharh al-Burdah" by the scholar Jalal al-Din al-Khujandi (d. 802 AH), one of the scholars of the ninth century AH, who explained the poem "al-Burdah" by al Busiri (d. 696 AH), which is a poem composed in the basit meter, and consists of 162 verses, and its subject is praising the noble Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace. The name of the poem is associated with the incident of paralysis that paralyzed the poet, so he composed this poem praising the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and beseeching and seeking his intercession to cure him of his illness. He saw the Prophet as if he had thrown a cloak over him, so he woke up from his sleep healthy. This poem spread and became famous in the Islamic world at that time, and poets flocked to it, composing in its style, and commentators extracted the pearls of meanings and words from it. This brief Explanation, which Al-Jalal Al Khujandi selected from his great commentary called "Tayyib Al-Habib," and dictated to his students in the honorable garden in Medina, is no less important than the rest of the commentaries. The author freed the commentary from Sufi phrases and allusions that made the commentary too long. The author kept what pertained to language, grammar, morphology, rhetoric, and other sciences. He also adopted a method based on mentioning the verse that needed to be explained according to the order of the poem, even if he differed in the order of some verses. Then he explains it linguistically, then extracts the precious meanings from it, and after that he diversifies the benefits between the religious sciences and the Arabic sciences. The researcher followed the scientific method in investigating the manuscripts, and the descriptive historical method in studying the autobiography and scientific biography of Imam Al-Khujandi. After proving the book‟s attribution to its author, the study came out with a set of results, including: the commentator‟s keenness to clarify the meanings of strange words, and his interest in the science of morphology in clarifying its effect on the meaning. He also paid attention to rhetoric and the significance of the context, so he would point out the poet‟s transition from address to absence, and from the implicit to the explicit, and he would clarify the rhetorical purpose of that. He also stopped at the images and similes and explained their aesthetics and purposes, and benefited from his culture and diverse knowledge, and his knowledge of the Persian language in explaining the poem, so he moved in explaining it between several levels such as language, morphology, grammar, rhetoric, interpretation, theology, and natural sciences, influenced by the Sufi atmosphere of the poem, so he spread in the explanation many meanings related to the method of the Sufis, seclusion and staying up late, longing, shedding tears, remembrance, and other things, and he IX tried to explain the references contained in the poem about the biography of the Noble Prophet, his miracles and his characteristics, drawing from his reading of the books of biography such as: the biography of Ibn Hisham, the biography of Al-Salihi, and from the books of characteristics, such as: the characteristics of the Prophet by Al-Tirmidhi, and Al-Shifa by Judge Iyad, and his style was dominated by rhyme and rhetorical embellishments, which is a characteristic of writing in his era, and what is to be added to the commentator is his citing of fabricated hadiths, as well as his failure to comment on some of the exaggerations that came in the poem Al-Burda that contradict the prophetic method The correct way to express one's feelings in praise.
