Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the values in 15 cartoons broadcast on TRT Children's channel for children aged 9-11. The document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs was associated with Birkök's (2019) five basic universal values. A table was created by classifying Birkök's values as factual values, and the rest as emotional values by Altun, the thesis supervisor. 15 Turkish-made cartoons broadcast on TRT Children's channel for children aged 9-11 were analyzed based on the values in the table. In the analysis, 5 episodes from each cartoon were watched at least twice, according to the rate of watching Youtube. The evaluation made was presented to the field experts, arrangements were made on the data with the feedback received from the field experts, thus contributing to the reliability of the study. Then, comments were made about the determined values. According to the findings of the study, it was stated that 15 cartoons broadcast on TRT Children's channel are rich in values, but mostly focused on certain values. It was thought that these results would guide families, educators and cartoon producers, and it was emphasized that the values should be distributed in a balanced manner in cartoons.
