Examination of islamic financial literacy levels of public personnel in group A professions

Financial literacy is undoubtedly important for every individual, but it is even more important for public personnel employed in group A positions, who have the task of determining the rules of financial decisions taken by individuals, directly affecting the decisions and their results, making decisions, supervising the decisions taken and ultimately resolving disputes related to the decisions taken. is of great importance. For this reason, the financial literacy level, knowledge and education of public personnel working in the mentioned mechanisms affect not only their individual decisions but also economic decisions at the macro level. In this context, the familiarity and knowledge level of public personnel working in such positions with the terms related to the Islamic finance sector, which has an increasingly larger share in the financial sector, is important for the sector. The aim of this study is to determine the Islamic financial literacy levels of public personnel employed in Group A professions and to determine the factors affecting this level. In line with the findings obtained as a result of the research, suggestions are offered to improve Islamic financial literacy levels. The subject of the research is to examine the Islamic financial literacy level of public personnel employed in Group A positions, whose duty is to make financial decisions, supervise the decisions taken and ultimately resolve disputes related to the decisions taken. In the research, the Islamic financial literacy level of people who received basic economics education was examined rather than measuring the financial literacy level. In order to examine the Islamic financial literacy levels of public personnel employed in Group A professions, questions were asked to 331 personnel currently employed in Group A professions, using the survey technique within the scope of the quantitative research method. The survey text was prepared using national and international research and with the contributions of academics who are experts in their fields. The survey was conducted via Google Form using the snowball sampling method, and Islamic financial literacy levels were analyzed using the SPSS program. When the results of the research were evaluated, it was determined that the levels of Islamic financial knowledge and literacy of public personnel employed in Group A professions were low. However, it has been observed that having basic economics education does not affect the level of Islamic financial literacy.
