Abstract (EN)
With its expanding use and increased production, aluminium has become the most used metal after iron. However, the fact that aluminium generally has strategic application areas in terms of economy and security makes it more important to protect this system against corrosive factors. As a consequence, recent years have seen an increase in studies of ways to protect aluminium systems from corrosion. In this context, it is important to develop inexpensive, common, easily obtainable and environmentally friendly inhibitors for aluminium as in other metals, and many researches have been carried out in the related literature. In this study, it was also aimed to develop such an organic inhibitor for Aluminium alloy 2024-T3. For this purpose, the protective effect of the extract of the oak tree which is widely grown in almost every corner of Anatolia against the corrosion of Aluminium alloy 2024-T3 extracted from the pine of Quercus Aegilops L specimen peculiar to Western Anatolia Region was investigated experimentally. Experiments carried out at different temperatures, different concentrations and different environments have shown that the efficiency of the extract is increased by the increase of the concentration of the extract and the yield is up to 90 %. In light of these findings, it can be said that the oak extract can be used as a natural inhibitor against corrosion.
